The building itself is so strong that only two floors were severely damaged when bombed by terrorists in 1945. The Empire state Building on average is struck by lightning twenty three times a year. Another Amazing thing is that the building was built in one year and forty-five days! The empire state building is used for office work and restaurants. Even during the depression, Starrett Brothers and Eken, Inc. still managed to finish this spectacular building.
